Right now we are all stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic and everyone is struggling in one way or another. Nothing is really for sure…
Except one thing. On line sales are up for retailers and more specifically sales for tops. Not to make light of the situation but there are some who are choosing retail therapy as a way to make their days better. There are too many sales to count and several friends and clients have mentioned to me that they have several items in several on-line carts but they are not sure if they should splurge and take the plunge (so to speak).
So here are 3 questions to ask yourself as you navigate on-line shopping.
Is now a good time to buy?
Yes, if you have the budget for it. There are sales upon sales at a number of retailers so it’s a great time to buy if you “need” it.
Do you “need” the item(s)?
Is what’s in your cart something you can wear with 3 or more items that you already have in your closet? Is it a basic piece like a pair slacks that will help you mix and match with pieces you already own. A print top you can wear with a cardigan, jeans, and more? A basic shell top or classic jacket that you can wear all year?
What size should I buy?
If you’re not sure what size you are with that particular brand purchase the size you think you are plus one size up or down. Not every brand uses the same measurements for sizing and some companies run big and/or small. Right now most retailers are not charging for shipping or for returns and returns labels can be printed at home. Be sure to save the packaging just in case.
Remember to fill your closet with items you love so when you wake up you want to get dressed. Don’t let the clearance rack determine your style.
