I love pieces that are versatile but sometimes we get stuck. We have certain pieces we wear over and over and then the weather changes and we don’t know what to do. While I love changing the look of an outfits with jewelry, accessories and/or shoes, you can really have fun transitioning your summer tops into fall with layering pieces.
If you would like to get valuable time back in your day finding ways to add a simple layer to your outfit can be a game changer. How you ask? People typically spend between thirteen and seventeen minutes deciding what to wear so if you have an easy way to create a new outfit it’s going to save you time. Great layering pieces you can use to transition your summer pieces to fall are a field or utility jacket, a blazer, or a cardigan. A few other examples are sweaters, bomber jackets, or puffer vests.
Today, in Texas, it was fifty degrees in the morning and eighty degrees in the afternoon. I knew I wanted to transition a summer top with a layering piece, like a blazer only I couldn’t decide which look I loved most. I tried a navy blazer, a utility jacket, and finally a camel blazer. In the end, I decided to wear the navy blazer. You could expand your wardrobe exponentially with one or two layering pieces that allow you to transition your summer tops to fall.
People feel as though they are seeing you in a new outfit when you change the focal point. I know it sounds too good to be true but one of the easiest ways to transition your summer tops into fall is by adding a layer like a blazer or cardigan because they change the look and feel of the outfit.
Adding a layering piece to a summer top can also change the vibe of the outfit. For example, if you want to elevate a simple lightweight top pair it with a blazer. If you want your lightweight top to not seem too fancy pair it with a pair of jeans and utility jacket. You will still look pulled together but in a more casual way. No matter which layering piece you choose, blazer, cardigan, vest, or sweater, adding one or two to your wardrobe can be a great way to expand the wardrobe you have.
